NYN to organize IDAHO Event
NYN is planning to organize International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO) on 17 May!
The International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia (“IDAHO") was created in 2004 to draw the attention of policy makers, opinion leaders, social movements, public opinion, the media, etc… to this issue, and to promote a world of tolerance, respect and freedom regardless of people’s sexual orientation or gender identity. As much as it is a day against violence and oppression, it is a day for freedom, diversity and acceptance.
Venue: Mzuzu city
Time: 10am
Day: 17 May 2013

NYN IS ALSO TO RUN A CAMPAIGN ON POST 2015 MOBILE PLATFORM AGENDA
What is "Voice Africa's future"?
The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were a map by the United Nations to develop the world’s poorest countries from 2000 to 2015. In the next few years, world leaders will need a new map, called Post-2015, for Africa’s development.
World leaders need you – Africa’s youth – to speak out so that your voices can be heard for Post-2015. As a young person, what is your dream about how your community and country can overcome poverty to reach their full potential?
Through “Voice Africa’s future”, the world will hear Africa’s youth. Between now and September 2013, “Voice Africa’s future” will ask you how to build a brighter future for your communities and Africa. We especially want to know how to change the lives of people living in poverty and in marginalised communities.
Your views will tell world leaders what must go into Post-2015 to help Africa become a great place for all its people.
We want to hear from at least 150,000 young people in 10 African countries – Uganda, South Africa, Malawi, Tanzania, Ghana, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Zambia and Botswana. If you are between the ages of 18 and 35 years, we need to hear from you. Whether you are employed or unemployed, working in the formal or informal sectors, your opinion is of great value to us!
Share your voice with us so that Africa can reach its full potential.
